either or both if you wish.
What is your favorite inspirational saying and why?
I have two favorite scriptures although I'm not very religious anymore, I feel I'm more spiritual .. and to me there is a difference.
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
and
Hebrew 13:5-6 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
These are my favorites because they give me comfort and I think they sort of speak for themselves where that is concerned.

you picked some great scriptures promise- i have many favorites that run thru my head at some of my darkest times. matthew 28:20- i will be with you always.
psalm 46:10- be still and know that I am God. i love this one particularly because when i am having a hard time making a decision- the right thing to do is NOTHING- if you are still and stop listening to all the other "voices" out there, the right answer will come to you. proverbs 3:5 trust the Lord with all your heart and dont lean on your own understanding. hebrews 12:1 let us run the race that is before us and never give up. (that one is for you RC) Revelation 21:4- God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death, sadness, crying or pain. phillipians 4:13- i can do all things in Christ who strengthens me. anyway- there you go- my favorites.

My current favorite inspirational quote is
"The impossible just takes longer"
It's a quote that someone had on their signature line or I must have seen it somewhere but it just really stuck in my mind. How many times has the "impossible" been done? Quite a few times - and that got me to thinking "hey-that's right!"
The 23rd Psalm, "Ye thou I walk through the Valley of death, I fear no evil for you are with me...." I know that isn't exactly what it is in any translation of the Bible. I find a lot of comfort in that. Also, there is a passage that says 'When you do for the least of my people, you do for me...' Again, I know I quoted that wrong. I'm not very good with quotes. That qutoe, the Sermon on the Mound and the Beatitudes are commitments toward leading one's life that I try to remember.

Mine is Psalms 25:16-18 (I'm not going to write it - gotta look it up for yourselves).
Why? Because it has helped me out of many a troubled time.

A command based on words of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount: “All things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them.” The Mosaic law contains a parallel commandment: “Whatever is hurtful to you, do not do to any other person.” 1

One of my favorite scriptures is John 11:35......two words.....Jesus wept. Even he felt the depths of human despair at times.
Probably anything from the Sermon on the Mount. I always loved, "If your brother should ask for your cloak, yea, give him your cloak, but your coat also." To me, this says, give more than what they ask, give what you think they need.
"Judge not, lest ye be judged by the Father who art in heaven." To me, it means, if you judge someone, that is how God will judge you.
Of course the one I consider the best would be John 3:16, anything in the book of Psalm as I feel they are so uplifting especially during times of need, doubt, etc. Mark 5:36 is another favorite and I also enjoy reading Proverbs with the kids and going over what they mean.
Absolutely the - Saint Francis Prayer - if you don't know it please come and read it, it is a powerful prayer that helps me to live me life in an honorable, enlightened way.
