Question 34 ~ secrets!!

What are your beauty secrets?

Now this thing has me giving away secrets. :)  Well, I've always had a great complexion even as a teen.  I wash it with those facial cloths every night, and sometimes in the afternoon when it's hot, but in the morning I don't use anything but water.  You have natural oils on your face that are actually good for your face.  So I just rinse with warm water, then ice cold water (I have been doing that for years without knowing why other then the wake up factor).  Moisturize!! That is so very important.  Even people with oily skin need to moisturize they just need a different kind.  I give myself an oatmeal facial, Just plain oatmeal and water.  My grandmother used to do that and I got that from her.  I do have an Avon facial mask I use once in a while, it's some milk thing.  I like the oatmeal better not so tight on my face.  Drinking lots and lots of water is great to keep your skin beautiful, help so you don't gain wait, keeps your hair in good condition.  I drink a lot of water.  I've been told I have great hair, it's getting harder and harder to keep that shine!  I wash my hair once a month with eggs and mayo.. I know sounds nasty, but it strips the crap that stays in your hair out, Not color (at least I don't think) and in the summer I put lemon juice in my hair when I go outside, gives the blonde a brighter highlight. The biggest secret I have for beauty is to be yourself, stay true to yourself, always trust, love and respect yourself.  That's the beauty that matters ... the beauty within!  I guess that's all my "secrets" I'm willing to give up.

Just a note to the guys here, You have beauty secrets too, lets call them hunk secrets.  Or if you want you can snitch on your wife's secrets :)

I still use tried and true Noxema on my face.  I'm also in love with these "lip paint" type lipsticks on the market, like the Lip-Finity by Revlon.  Even some of the "pearl" colors look too dark, so instead of the gloss that comes with these, I will use a light frosted shade of regular lipstick over the paint, just before the lip-paint is dry.  I get a lot of compliments on it (the color).  Sheila

I have always had clear skin, pale, some say porcelain. I never go out in the sun without sunscreen (high SPF). I have used St. Ives products since my teens, and I have always had good results. Basically I just wash and moisturize everyday and be sure to take off my make-up every night before I go to bed. Drinking water is very important too.

i am about the most low maintenance girl you could ever meet. i rarely wear makeup- only when i go out- rarely curl my hair- it has a little natural wave, but most often it goes up in a pony tail. im covered with freckles, so whats the point really??!! the only thing i do is use oil of olay on my face- my grandma did that too- except im cheap so i use walmart's off brand LOL!!!!! i have no particular affinity for any brands or treatments. i highlight my hair sometimes, but i try to keep things cheap- i have better things to spend my money on!!! besides the most beautiful thing is someones smile- and one that doesnt have to be painted on. the sparkle in your eye usualy comes from the smile on your face- what a great combination!!!

I have no secrets, my beauty is just a natural gift. Glad this is typing and not speaking, because speaking right now would be extremely difficult what with my tongue being stuck in my cheek!

No big secrets here, lol.  First I also was blessed with an unblemished complexion, lol.  I have never worn foundation the closest I have came to it was tinted moisturizers, which add a hint of color without clogging all your pores.  I am a sun slut so I have to be careful there.  I just make sure that I use an awesome moisturizer, Avon has great stuff, MaryKay the cult has great stuff, Nivea is awesome, lots of em', I use an Oil of Olay Clay mask once a week and since I love the sun so, I also use vitamin C capsules to repair damage done by the sun and they work, thank God so I can have my tan and keep my skin too, ha... I do have a use for foundation though that I will share with the readers.  I use it on my eyelids and lips.  Why??? A. It makes my eyeshadow last long and B. same thing for the lipstick, what did ya think? lol.  Also I try and make sure my hair is "healthy" looking, not cute, not great just healthy and since I KNOW  I am now done having babies, I try and keep my weight at a healthy, normal range for my body habitus and those habits (trying to keep excess weight off) also help as I improve my health as a whole, feel better, gain self confidence and then the only beauty that matters, the true beauty that is within me can shine.  I do have eyes that people often misread for "evil" "mean" just a few of the nicer ones, ha.  I mean people love them but they are scared all the same, ha.  My eyes are like "wolf" eyes, such a pale blue they are almost white, very different but mine and I like em'!!!  So I pay the most attn. to them with the makeup!! That's about it folks? ha. Do ya feel beautiful now? lol.

I forgot to mention in response to the egg/mayo combo you do (I used to do the same one, lol) there is this product that comes in a small envelop type package, it is a maroon and silver colored package called Henna and Placenta, I forget who makes it, they are very inexpensive.  You can get them at most Walgreen's or any drug store usually.  Anyway, it does the same thing and deep conditions at the same time.  Wonderful product, it is still nasty with the placenta and all but it doesn't smell and you can't get salmonella from it, lol.  The best product ever to take care of hair.  I learned of this when I used to do hair shows as a younger person, lol.

OK, I am going to skip over this one in my journal, because there just insn't going to be enough to make a decent sized entry. And I have to challenge alsovine94 here. I think that I am the lowest~maintenance girl on the planet. I don't wear makeup except for maybe once a year. I don't do anything with my hair except a sloppy ponytail. I usally wear comfy clothes, AKA sweat pants and a t shirt or sweatshirt. If I am in jeans, it's time to break out the camera cause Stephie is dressed up for something. LOL Am I a slob, no. It's just a whole lot easier to chase after my 7 year old and my 4 year old when I am in sweats and tennis shoes. So I guess my only 'beauty secret' is just be comfortable with who you are.
