Question 56 ~ Then and Now

What things do you enjoy doing as an adult that you also enjoyed as a child?

PreviewThis is a pretty easy question, and I actually have many things I still enjoy... guess it could be said I never grew up :)
Saturday morning cartoons, I don't think I'll ever grow out of those.  I love to color, yes in coloring books.  I use coloring to relax me, to keep my mind of things that are stressing me.  So the reasons are different, but I still enjoy it.
I love riding bikes and swinging.  Of coarse sometimes I ride the bike that doesn't go anywhere.  I prefer going outside and riding until I can't ride anymore, our weather hasn't been too nice to do that yet.
I guess I enjoy a lot of stuff like playing in the sand, dancing no matter who's looking, going to the zoo, but mostly it's the Saturday morning cartoons.

Question 55 ~ Anger

What is the angriest you have ever been and how did you resolve it?

It's really odd today I opened the jar and this question fell out.  I had let my anger get away from me a bit the last few days, about something that I really shouldn't have..
I am not an angry person.  I do get upset or mad, but it usually passes quickly.  So lately being angry or being "set off" so easily is different for me.  I was thinking last night I needed to look at this and why do I allow people to get inside my head so much lately.  Then this question falls out.  Someone trying to tell me something?
Well, to answer the question.  I can't really give a specific example because there are a couple of times that I have been angry to the point of being almost out of control.  It always revolved around my children, someone hurting them, their father's messing with their little heads, or losing them.  In each case I've learned that being crazy mad doesn't solve a thing, sometimes I've learned that the hard way.  But it's always a lesson learned.
Anger just eats away at the good in my heart.  So, when I get like that now, I try to realize that the person who I'm most angry at is ME!

Question 54 ~ Wonderful things!

What is the most wonderful thing that has ever happened to you?
Preview
I would have to say becoming a parent.  Although it's been very very tough ... especially lately! It is worth it.  Just watching the growth, feeling the love, and knowing just maybe someday how I was as a parent may make a difference is a wonderful thing.  It brings me great joy.  Even when I'm ready to throw my hands up.  Even on the days I cry more then they do! It changed my life.  And I hope that I have done a good job, and continue to do so.

Message about the background

heard from Joe yesterday regarding the problem with the comment's fading into the background and here is the link to his journal entry about it.
http://journals.aol.com/journalseditor/magicsmoke/entries/240
They say are working on it.
My question to you all is can you put up with it for a bit longer or is it bothering you too!  I highlight the comments to read them but it's a pain.
If you would like me to change the background so we can read them without having to highlight them I'll work on that.  Let me know.
I'm working on the today's question now.

question 53 ~ TV

What was your favorite TV show as a child?  What is it now?

I swear we did this question already, and maybe we did.  A couple of times I've put the slip back in the jar by mistake but caught myself right away.  I am having some problems with my computer freezing up and can't find my journal jar notebook so I can't look back on this.  Guess if we did this question already.. Well, what a wonderful opportunity to revisit it LOL.
I didn't watch too much.  I remember cartoons being my favorite thing to watch.  I really can't remember which ones I liked.  I know I loved Sesame Street.  I preferred being outside more then watching TV.

Now I like Dog the Bounty Hunter and Big brother.

question 52

What do you remember about the day you were baptized?

At first I thought this was a silly question.  I was baptized when I was under two months old and of coarse I do not remember anything.  I could ask my mother about that day, but it wouldn't be really answering the question how it was asked, because it doesn't ask what does your mother remember about that day.  However, some people are baptized as teenagers or adults.  So this really isn't a silly question, it's just a question I cannot answer.  I'm sure it was a hectic day, since everything in my childhood was hectic.

On a personal note.  Things are still total chaos in my life, but I need distraction so I'm back.  Maybe this will help.  I have emailed those who have asked about what is going on and for those who has access to my private journal do already know.  Just know I'm sure things will work out and I will be okay as always life has it's way of working out.  Thanks for your support.

Catch up

           Preview

Have a great Sunday,  We have a few people behind and a couple new people so I figured I have a catch up day.  Also I am probably going to be changing the background color of the journal this evening.  It will take some time because I will need to go through some of the back entries and change the font colors because they are white or light colors.  I love the black background but it doesn't seem AOL is going to be getting to the problem too soon, and reading the comments is very important so, I don't have much of a choice.

Luv you all... be safe...

Question 51 ~ Siblings

Did you get along with all your brothers and sisters?  Did you wish you had more of them or less?

PreviewI got along very well with my sister.  We would fight sometimes, over silly things.  We had a few hair pulling contests, I have to say it made my head strong hehe.  It doesn't bother me to have my hair pulled.  Before we were teenagers, we were best friends .. then the terrible teens seemed to hit me pretty bad and I was only into parties and boys.  So we grew apart.  In the last 4-5 years though, we've gotten close again, and my sister has become my best friend. I had another sister that died when I was young... Who I never really got to know, and do not remember much about her.
Now for my brothers.  I have such a mixed up family.. Two of my brother's have the same father different mother and two have the same mother different father as me.  Other then the torture, which I've written about before, my brothers we all pretty good to me.  They were all a lot older then I was, so they moved out when I was young.  They were the kind of brothers that although they tortured me (and I know they loved me anyway) NO ONE could mess with me.  So even though they had me convinced I was adopted (as I don't look like anyone in my family, they are all dark haired/dark eyes..I'm blonde with green eyes) I know they love me.  After all I'm the baby of the family.

I feel I had the right amount of siblings.  Even though there were times I wished to be an only child.  Which I got to be being the last to leave the house.  It was lonely.

Question 50 ~ Courtship

Tell a courtship story about your parents.  How did they meet?

Too bad on this question. My mother does not like to talk about my father. I have no idea how they met, nor have I ever heard a story (other then the bad, very bad stuff). So I can't answer this question. I will investigate this if my mother is in a good mood, and maybe add to this entry.  However, I am looking forward to hearing your stories.

Question 49 ~ winning?

How do you feel about winning? Losing?

I know I'm going to sound hokey here, but I don't care either way.  Sure I'd love to win the lottery (I could finally get rid of this broken down computer lol)  but as far as winning games, events, awards.  It's exciting I'll jump up and down.  But I actually get more excited by other people winning rather then myself.  Losing.. hmm well there has to be a loser in order for there to be a winner.  I don't mind.  If we are talking losing THINGS well that just plain makes me mad! hehe
Now when it comes to my Vikings and Twins... I'm a little more competitive, I WANT THEM to win, when they lose games, I know they will win again...
I feel everyone wins at something, and we all have to lose sometime or we won't have character!

Question 48 ~Adventure

What is the most adventuresome thing you have ever done?

Oh boy,  This was so hard to think of just one thing, I've pretty much led a crazy life, full of adventure.  However, I need to keep this "g" rated and I don't want to relive the insane parts so although this didn't show me as the brightest bulb on the tree, it was adventuresome.
I was in the process of moving, and actually really had no place of my own lined up yet.  I was moving my things into a pole barn of a friends and was planning on staying out there. I guess I just got tired of it all.  I took all the money I had in savings sold a few things which gave me a total of $2000 filled my car up with gas and let me tell you it was a beater of a car.  Went and visited my Mom, but told her I couldn't stay long, I was saying good bye but she didn't know that.  Took my child (who I didn't have custody of, of coarse.  Gave my ex a fake address and took off in my car.
             Preview
Not knowing where I was going.  I was just leaving MN.  I just kept driving, we stopped along the way and bought a tent.  My son was pretty young then, and had no idea what we were doing, heck neither did I.  Once we were out of MN, although I was a little scared, it became a challenge to me.  Could we make it without my family, without his dad?  Would I get in trouble?  I had no plans on where we would end up, I knew I just wanted to keep driving.  I started to get tired and ended up in Nebraska, we got there about 7am and got a hotel.  We slept on and off most of the morning, and my son watched cartoons. We then headed out, got to the edge of Nebraska and decided to stop at this resort and stay for a few days.  I was having second thoughts and wondering what I had done.  We pitched our tent.  We went to the bar/resturant to eat then down to the beach.  We were swimming and having a good time. I was feeling better and thought we'd stay a couple of days, have some fun and keep going.  I had left my wallet under my towel.  I didn't think about that when we gathered up our stuff and went back to our tent,  once there I noticed my wallet wasn't there.  I ran back to the beach of coarse it was gone, it probably was gone before I pick up our stuff.  Now I was out of money. I talked to the people who owned the resort and she let me work at the bar in exchange for meals and for the charge for having our tent there.  I ended up having to have someone wire me money but I had to promise I would come home.  So when the money got there, I tired to pay the lady some money because she always gave more then I worked, she gave my son ice cream and extra stuff. She was very good to us.  But she wouldn't take it.  So we started to drive home.  Somewhere in Iowa, I got a flat tire. I look and my spare is flat, then up pulls a highway patrol, I think well I'm gone... I had expired tabs and no driver's license. My son is in the car saying something about we just got back from seeing Burt and Ernie and now we are on our way to visit Big Bird.  The highway patrol looked at my plates, HAD to have seen they were expired, but said "we'll have to tow your car to the garage" I said "there is no way I can afford a tow" He said "just thank the good state of Iowa" I was floored.  So we get to the garage and they are putting new (used) tires on, four of them!!  My son is on the phone with Big bird lol.  I'm still freaking that they are going to take my car or me to jail.  But they don't.  He shakes my hand, tells me to have a save trip home, then leaves.  I made it back home, my family didn't know I had even left the state until years later.  Of coarse my ex did, he went to that fake address I gave him.  It was like some scene out of a movie when he was telling me about it, it was a vacant lot.  All I could do was laugh.
I left a few things out to condense this story.  But that was one of my odd adventures. And the adventures continue.....

Question 47 ~ Animal in you!

If you could be any animal, which one would you be and why?

I would be a cat, but not just any cat.  I would be my cat.  Or at least a cat who owns me.  That's right I do not own my cat.  It IS the other way around here.  I spoil this guy.  So I would love to be him.  He sleeps when he wants, he eats food and water whenever he desires, all the toys you can imagine (I love these toys although he hardly ever plays with them, he prefers push pins, he's a strange one).  Oh and the treats.  He knows at 8:30pm no matter what I'm doing it's treat time.  Lord help me if I forget.  He lets me know and my neighbors.  Of coarse I jump right up and get his treats for him.  We call them YumYums.  If you say YumYums around him .. watch out, be prepared for whining until 8:30 or until you give in and give them to him early.  Yes, he is a spoiled brat, but he does give a lot in return.  When I'm sad this cat will not leave my side, when I cry he's in my face (I believe to wipe my tears lol) however, he gets a lot of hair on my face... he thinks he is helping, I guess he is because it gets my mind off whatever I was crying about and on getting the hair out from under my contacts or out of my nose. He can also shut off my bedroom light, he jumps at the light switch until it's off, now mind you, it's not on command and certainly not when I want it off, usually when I'm reading .. he's a prankster.. wonder where he gets that from?? Cats are pretty awesome "animals," although mine's a kid! They are independent yet need you in a way that lets you know you have them around for a good reason.
That's the animal I would like to be.  Makeveli ...

question 46 ~ Reading

Do you have a favorite Magazine?  What do you learn from it?  Why do you like it?

          Preview
That's my favorite magazine.  I probably learn much more from reading Newsweek and the newspaper about current events, but I love music.  So Rolling Stone is my favorite magazine.  It's not a gossip magazine. It gives you information on bands just starting out, information on CD's being released.  Interviews with artists. I've learned about artists I probably never would have listened to if I hadn't read about them in that magazine.  For an entertainment magazine I'd have to say it's the best.  It has other entertainment information in there, things on movies and books too.
I would say because I'm so into music I like that sort of thing.
I like cooking magazines for the recipes but I don't subscribe to them.

Trouble with Font color

Seems there is a little problem going on with this journal and my other journal with the black background, not sure why.  All of a sudden since they did the update with the journal archives the font fades to black blending into the black background.  I contacted Joe our Journal Editor so hopefully he can help.  If not I'll have to change the background to white.  So until then just let me know if you can't see the entries and I'll do my best to fix them for now.

Question 45

Tell about a funeral you attended that you will never forget?

My first word here is AHHH (okay not a real word).  Why this kind of a question I do not know.  There have been some beautiful funerals I have attended of some close family and friends I could write about.  But I have decided I've been too depressed to go that way today.  So I'm going to write about a different one.  A woman I knew in a support group I attended called me one day crying... her father had passed away, and she needed someone to come with her to the funeral.  She wasn't that close to the rest of her family but she was daddy's girl, and needed to have someone there from the group, and said I was the one that she was closest with.  Now I've never been good at funerals.  Even if I don't know the person I break down.  I called our group leader and she said "it's good for you to support her, you need to go."  So at the time I always did as I was told (working on my codependency of coarse) I went.  In the middle of the funeral, they started to pass the microphone around to people so they could say what this man had meant to them.  I didn't think anything of it. I was thinking "My God this was one wonderful man, as I listened to everything he had done for other, how he changed so many people's lives, how many people loved him"  Then I started thinking as I always do "what if they are all just lying because they don't want to say anything bad"  .. my mind started to wonder farther.. "what would people say at my funeral?"  All of a sudden the mic is in my hands.  OMG it's in my hands and my mind was on my own funeral not to mention I've never even met this man.  I looked around and everyone was looking at me, I turned and looked at his daughter who was sitting up front with the rest of her family  (I was a few rows behind her) So I started to speak.  Saying "John was such a great man, He raised such find children..... I coughed.... I can hardly believe he is gone" Now the rest is such a blur. I started to think to myself "you should just start singing" then I started to laughing.. Laughing right there at the funeral...OMG I couldn't handle this. I don't know everything I said. I said things I would want people to say about me if it were my funeral. I was talking like I had known him.  It was awful. I kept thinking why didn't you just say, "I didn't get to meet John, but I know his daughter and I'm sorry for your loss" and pass the mic! Afterwards, People would come up to me and say "how'd you know him?"  I just acted like I was really upset. Then, finally my friend came up and said "lets get out of here" we left.  She laughed about it, I was still in shock!  Now it's funny and I can laugh about it.  It was like some bad dream.

Question 44 ~ Inventions

What is one invention you could not live without?

I've spent a long time thinking about this one, and I had a really hard time coming up with an answer to this.  I probably could live without most anything.  Would I want to .. no.  I would hate not to have coffee in the morning, so my coffee maker is important, yet I could live without it. I don't care much for walking with a bunch of groceries so my car is important to me, yet I could live without it.  I think I could live by candle light but I wouldn't want to.  I do everything on my computer.. yet when it crashed, I was lost.  However, since I am bipolar and have other health problems (yet I don't want to be a downer here)  medications would be my choice here... I would not be able to live without those inventions.  I thank God for those inventions as they have prolonged my life.

I am looking forward to seeing what the rest of you come up with as I'm sure I haven't thought of nearly anything.  I'll be saying to myself, Oh yes I couldn't live without that.
