Describe a typical day in high school.
I don't think I had a typical day. I skipped a lot and when I was there, it was more about being social then learning. I had a "good time" in high school, just didn't get good grades.
When I would show up, I would go get there about 1/2 hour before school started so I could plan my evening. I paid little attention in class and often go into trouble. I think my school file was really fat with dress code violations. I spent a lot of time in ISS (in school suspension) It was in high school that my Bipolar became worse. I began to get high before school just to try and be calmer... Somehow I got through it all. I don't have "if I could go back I'd do this different" feelings I firmly believe I had to go through what I did to be me now.

High school for me was ablast. I was popular because I played in bands and was a discjockey on the local radio. So for me it was alot of fun.
Plenty of girls, parties, etc.
BUT I would never want to go back. I realize the things that we thought were so important then, seem very childish now.
never really have much of a chance to enjoy my high school days i stay sick thats why this year coming up i will be in 12th i am planning to hang in there the best i can! im not really a social one though.
schoool? nope didnt make it to classes either . but I did try . school wasnt that hot for me . couldnt do the work , and wasnt allowed to do homework at home it would take my slave chores away . and she couldnt have that she had this thing about us learning , I guess she was afriad we could use it agienst her . but yea that was my experanse of school .
One of the things that I remember about going to high school was having first to take the public bus and then having to walk three more blocks because I thought it was kind of silly to catch another bus for just three blocks which I hated walking anyway. There was this stretch of sidewalk that just seemed to attract more ice than the rest of the area and I hated walking on it. Another thing I remember is that after school on my way back - walking the 3 blocks - all I could think of was getting to the bus stop so I could get on the bus and sit down - of course this made the walk take longer. Also too since others would be waiting at the same bus stop I would walk down some blocks so that I could get on the bus a few stops earlier so that I could have a seat. Sometimes the bus would come when I was walking between stops so that meant that I just had to wait for another one. Kind of makes me think I was a very hyper kind of kid.
As for high school itself I was pretty much a studious kind of bookworm - glasses and all and for the most part (with the exception of a few friends) I kept to myself. I used to be made fun of because I did a lot of studying.....

I am ADD, and I stood out like a sore thumb. I hated grammar school. The kids about me made it torture. Once I got into high school, though, the kids became more tolerant, there were more so I met a few that were like me. I had a lot of fun in high school. I got involved in alot of after school activities and I made friends with the kids that were part of clubs that drew my interest. I try to tell my kids now to get interested and get involved. My sons did. They enjoyed their high school years. My daughter, well we'll see.

A typical school day...I don't even want to think about school since it starts in less than 3 wks! But umm...a lotta giggling, gossip, fakeness, popularity, trying to impress... teachers whipping out a ruler to measure your skirt....(it happened to me. Yeah i got in trouble becuase in the back my skirt was 1/16th of an inch too short! Gimme a break! Whose gonna notice?!. so im not really looking forward to going back.
Hey...this is my first visit to the jar and couldn't resist playing along. I just started a new AOL journal (my other journal is at http://jamie.scottandjamie.com/current ) so you'll probably see me again.

A typical day in highschool was based on one thing, HURRYING UP AND GETTING OUT OF THERE. Of course my fav. year was my senior year.
I skipped school a lot. I think I probably showed up about half the time. On the days that I did show up I would strive to make myself as invisible as possible. Since the school I attended was very small that strategy didn't usually work. When there are only twelve or fifteen other students in your grade and you're the only one who's clothes are dirty and falling apart it's hard to blend in. On a good day I'd only have to deal with a few snide remarks and laughter as I passed other students in the halls. On a bad day someone would decide to use me as comic material in front of an audience.
Nose to the grindstone - I chose this to honor a special man who impacted my life in high school and beyond
I really loved high school!
