What do you remember about the day you were baptized?
At first I thought this was a silly question. I was baptized when I was under two months old and of coarse I do not remember anything. I could ask my mother about that day, but it wouldn't be really answering the question how it was asked, because it doesn't ask what does your mother remember about that day. However, some people are baptized as teenagers or adults. So this really isn't a silly question, it's just a question I cannot answer. I'm sure it was a hectic day, since everything in my childhood was hectic.
On a personal note. Things are still total chaos in my life, but I need distraction so I'm back. Maybe this will help. I have emailed those who have asked about what is going on and for those who has access to my private journal do already know. Just know I'm sure things will work out and I will be okay as always life has it's way of working out. Thanks for your support.

This is my first time here, hello.
I was baptized when i was 18 so i remember quite a bit. I remember the blue hippy dress i wore, i remember that the water was warmer that i thought it would be. I remember what a trip it was that the pastor was standing in a pool of water up to his waist in a full suit! LOL
But what i loved the most about my baptism, was when the Pastor said (before he dunked me), "It's nice to see young people come forward and take a stand for the Lord". I thought that was beautiful.

Hmmm, not much, I was only 3 months old! I have pictures though, and I still hear from my Godparents every year for my Birthday.
Sadly, I can't answer this question either. I was only a few months old when I was baptized. I hope you're doing ok, and hope things will be looking up for you soon. :) ~Colleen

I remember hearing the story from my grandmother over and over that I was running down the aisle of the church with my snowsuit around my ankles trailing behind me. I was 3 or 4. I think it took my Mom that long to decide if she wanted me baptized catholic or not:)
i was never baptized just cristianed which i think is wrong to do that because you never kno what religion you child might grow to be.
My briefest answer so far:

not a darn thing- i was a baby also. the church i attend now encourages adult immersion baptism, but i havent quite found the courage to do that yet. so i guess my "sprinkling" will have to hold me for awhile!!
i was brought up in a strict baptist household(boy how things change)hehe!! i have actually been baptized 3 times and i just remember thinking....i hope he doesn`t drop me in this water.........by the way welcome back....hope things start clearing up for you and yours
I don't remember my Baptism either as I was a baby as well. My Dad used to tell a story though that I thought was pretty cool. He said that he used to see heaven in his mind's eye as this fabulous place in the clouds where God could meet the saints and the patriarchs. They would be reaching out to each other, similiar to the way they do on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. My Dad said that when he was an adult he returned to the Church where he was baptised in order to obtain a copy of his Baptismal certificate. He hadn't been in that Church since Baptism. He said though, when in the Church itself, he happened to glance up at the ceiling. Three was a mural there, depicting just that scene he had always visualized as being heaven.

I was baptised after just a few months, so I dont remember it on my own.
My mother has told me many times of that day though.
I was born premature. And I was very sick as a child. So the preist suggested to my MOM that she baptise me, because it didnt look like I was going to live.
Luckily God smiled on me, and along with my german/irish stubborness I fought through and lived.
Both my husband and myself waited to get baptized for one reason or another and then once we had our family and found a church home, we both decided then that it was time and at 23 years old we both were baptized together. I went first and the first person I saw when I was brought back up from the water was my husband and vice versa. It was very special to us both and so now I am glad that I waited until I was an "adult", lol.
Thanks for the welcome. I am catching up as quickly as I can.....this is so addictive. LOL To anyone who is interested in reading poetry, I also have a journal where I write my original poetry. Let me know what you think of it.

I hope all goes well for you and I will continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I don't seem to remember too much about it. I think that I was more older than a baby but I do remember wearing white and the water - not so much it being on me but me being in it.

I'm with you...I was baptized around 6 weeks old---I'm told I behaved myself quite nicely during the ceremony! :-)
Concerning the upheaval going on---hang in there. The bad times help us appreciate the good.

I can't answer this one either - I don't know if I was baptized. No pictures to document that it ever happened
