Question 17 ~ Picnics!

Do you like picnics?  Have you been on any picnics that stick out in your mind?

I love picnics.  Sometimes in the summer I'll just decide to go to the beach and have a picnic.  There is something about the summer breeze as you are eating and the sun shining on you.  Sometimes they can be romantic, but it's been long long time since I've been on a romantic picnic. Usually I just drag Frankie with :)
The picnic that really stands out is the one we had on Mother's day.  Our family had all planned to meet at this one lake.  Everyone was to bring something for it.  We arrived on time, but half the family was late.  We waited and waited.  Finally we just decided to eat what we had brought.  If I remember right we had no meat, just salads.  As it turns out the other half of my family was there, but on the other side of the lake... they had only meat. They too got tired of waiting for us.  We somehow got which park we were supposed to go to mixed up.  So we had separate picnics that mother's day.  I will never forget it, I still laugh when I remember how mad my mother was that no one was showing up.

Probably the most memorable, for all the wrong reasons was, when the kids were small.  Me, hubby and the two of them went to a local beauty spot and had a lovely picnic lunch.  The food was tasty and the day was sunny, a perfect day and all went well. As we were packing to leave hubby said he had been bitten by some insect or other.  As it turned out it wasn`t an insect bite at all but the start of a painful bout of Shingles.  He wasn`t very well at all but he couldn`t afford time off work so he did suffer.  Every time now, if we are on a picnic ,I always remember the end of a perfect day !   Sandra xxx

I LOVE PICNICS!!!  One that stood out was when I went to Michigan to see my friend and we took her kids to the beach.  She packed a great lunch for us and we had a good time until the fender bender on the way home (not my fault and thank God no one was hurt).  But my favorite picnics are to grab some sandwiches and pop, crackers and cheese dip, and the frisbee then kidnap hubby from work and drive to the park where we got married (close to where he works).  We eat and then either toss the frisbee around or take a walk by the river.  If its hot out, we find a nice big rock to sit on and dip our feet in the water and just sit with each other and watch the fish jump.  In our hectic lives, sometimes, you just have to do that.  :oD  Hugs, Sheila

I also like picnics, they are a nice way to enjoy the sunshine and just be outside. I can`t think of any particular one`s in mind, but it`s always fun to get together with family and friends.

I love picnics. It is not just the food, but the atmosphere and the company.
One of the best picnics I had was while hiking in Colorado years ago when I was younger. We packed a picnic lunch and strapped them on with our back packs.
We found a spot where we could sit and eat our sandwiches and chips while we were over looking the rocky mountains, and the streams coming down from the mountain. It was very scenic, very peaceful, and very beautiful.
It is nice to get away from the city and enjoy life.

i love picnics too!! it doesnt have to be anything fancy- just sandwiches and cold drinks- every year when we take the kids to the zoo- we always pack a picnic so i have lots of good memories of those times. we used to picnic every mothers and fathers day too when i was growing up- it was fun to spend time with my aunts and uncles and cousins. it's just fun being with people you love and people who love you- sharing a meal outdoors- taking a hike in the woods or down by the lake and then a nap on the blanket while soaking up some sun- man talking about this makes me long for summer!!!!

oicnics .hehe I got one its a redneck picknic put I got to say we had alot of fun
About four years ago I had 7 children all the time(3 are mine)we didnt want to go anywhere and it was about 105 degrees out so I suggested a picnic in the cow field.evryone was for it and away we went into the pasture cows and all.
This one bull didnt like us bieng there so we stayed close together staying out of his way we walked about a quarter of a mile intill  we got to what I called a pound.
we layed are blanket under a tree where it was shaded and we ate
are picnic was rudley interrupted when the cows decided it was bath time so we packed up and home we went.
It was so fun though that the kids still talk about that picnic

I love camping, which is like one long big picnic..lol! Otherwise, during the summer I like to pack a cooler for the day and head to the beach and chill.

I love picnics. We used to take our kids and meet my husband's brother's family at a park in Valparaiso, IN. We'd cookout and swim or hike. It was a beautiful place. Each year we talk about going back, but never do. Maybe this year.

Yes, I do like picnics, even though I haven't been to a picnic in a long time. I like to bring along some cheese, fruit, a baguette, and a bottle of good wine and just enjoy the day with whoever is accompanying me. This has inspired me to plan a picnic soon. Thanks! : )

Love em' but haven't been on one in forever and they were all great, none in particular stick out in my mind though.  I guess they weren't as great as I thought and I guess I should probably go on another and make it freakin great!!! lol.
