Spot light

I thought I would at least do my weekly spot light.  I am doing it on Friday as I don't know how much time I will be online this weekend.  And since I took the week off of this journal I should do it now...

So here it is:

I'm doing a graphics theme.. I don't often do themes but as you all must know by now I love tags and how talented so many are in Jland.  A talent I don't have so when someone else has talent I love to show it off...

The first one is Cherry's. I've been reading her journals for a long time now. I just love this girl.  She's funny and smart and I love her opinions.  She's amazing to me. Wise way beyond her years... she's offered me advice that I have taken and has helped me so much! Then I found out she does graphics and fell in love with them.  She's very good at this.. I had no clue (yes Cherry you surprised me not that I didn't think you could do it but I didn't know you WERE doing these)

Here is one of her tags:

The next one I'm crazy about is one that another artist shared with me... that's how I found her. Now I don't know much about her personally yet, but I love her work. She was another breath of fresh air. She does great work... she's unique and I love the way she does her's.
Here is a sample of her work:

The last one is someone I've known for awhile.. probably since I began writing and found Jland.  She is a good friend who is such a fire cracker (my granny uses that word a lot) she says what she means I'm telling you! She means so much to me... I can't explain it.. I'm so happy she is back in Jland and she's going to have a baby!!!! I love her work.. I also didn't know she did these.  It's amazing what she can do. I love this woman but that is not the only reason I picked her graphic journal ... she does very good work also.

Here is one of her's:

There three amazing talented women that not only do these things for other's but are such good people!  Check them out.  I admire them so much!  You are all wonderful women that I care much about.

Please enjoy their work!  But always ALWAYS if you use their tags link back to them.. it's so important for the people doing these (and not just these three but everyone that does tags for us) to get credit for their work!

Thanks.. have a great weekend!

her Question 138

Who was your best friend growing up?

Well I'm not going to name her actual name so I'll just call her L.  Her and I did everything together.  Snuck out of the house (sorry mom lol) would cover for each other saying we were spending the night at each other's houses when in reality we were going somewhere else (yes I was a bad girl)

We bought our first bras together (odd day) her mom was my mom.. and my mom was her mom. We shared everything from make up.. clothing.. to homework.

A few years ago she got married and her husband died on their honeymoon.  That was the last time I saw her... then she died and my mother didn't want to tell me because of everything that was going on at that time in my life. Which I find totally unfair... since I never got to say goodbye.  But I know in my heart she knows I loved her always.. we shared too much growing up.. We were sisters.  I often find something only her and I would find funny and wish I could call her.  Instead, I look up and say "what about that!?" I KNOW she hears me!

RIP L I love you!

This was a sad but good memory for me.  Remember her and all the fun and funny crap we would do or try to pull is a nice trip down memory lane.  Heck I could write a whole long entry about our adventures in childhood..as teens and as adults.  :)

Question 137

What was your family tradition for Memorial Day?

When I was little I don't really remember doing too much. I do remember going to a few Memorial Day parades and having  picnics.

Recently we visited my grandparents graves....  It was the first time F went to there I think he was a little freaked out.

But last few Memorial days we haven't done much.

Question 136

What was your favorite all time gift?

This was hard to pick ONE favorite gift.  So many things I have loved that people have given me or made me.  I guess I would have to say ALL the things my children have made me.  From silly Christmas decorations made of macaroni to paintings.  I value those things much higher as they will only be this age once and they put all their little hearts into these projects. No pictures of any of that on this computer :(

If I had to pick a material thing it would be my ring. I'm still best friends with the guy who gave it to me.. we still care deeply about each other but we just can't make it as man and wife.  He made me keep the ring when I broke it off.  It isn't the monetary value of the ring...it is a memory of the love we once shared... the life we once dreamed of and the bond of friendship we now have that nothing can break apart.

 It's blurry!
